Jason's Feline Inspiration
"The first song I remember writing was when i wa and our pet cat had died" Jason recalls."I
wasn't able to sleep, so in the middle of the night I went to the bathroom with a pen and paper and wrote a song. I
have no idea how it went all I remember was doing it."
Hurtin' For His Country
From age 7 to 12 Jason's religiously strict parents wpuld not allow him to listen to any secular
music. "A friend of mine made me a tape of Billy Raye Cyrus' 'Achy Breaky Heart' when i was 15, and I had hid in a place where
my dad would never look; under my mattress," Jason laughs. "Of course, he found it. I got the worst spanking i can remember
over 'Achy Breaky Heart'."

Mother Knows Best
Jason's parents finally mellowed, and eventually encouraged his singing career. In fact, his
mom convinced him to take part in a local TV talent show,Gimme the Mike! - and he won!!!!! A manager saw him on him
on the show, signed him as a client and helped him get a major - label record deal. "My mom inadvertently had a hand on getting
me here," Jason says. "So listen to your parents."
